Why not just let the game simulate it?
In-game simulation engines are famously... not very good. Elite teams drop games they should never lose, and box scores rarely resemble real football. This tool maps the rating gap between two teams onto odds derived from real point spreads instead of relying on the game engine.
Are College Football and Madden calculated differently?
Yes. Each mode uses its own model based on its sport's team ratings, betting lines, home-field advantage, and historical results. Pick the game you are playing before deciding the matchup.
How is home field handled?
Whichever side you mark as home gets an adjustment modeled on real home-field advantage before the odds are calculated. It matters most in close matchups and won't save a badly overmatched team.
Does the better team always win?
No. The result is weighted, not fixed. Favorites win at realistic rates, which means upsets happen. When a meaningful favorite loses, the result will say so.
